A first attempt to grow something. The last week has been a bit rough on the hot peppers. The leaves of the habanero and the hot banana are curling like there is no tomorrow. To make it worse, we had a strong storm a few days ago, and apparently a fungus called blacks spot spread through all the wet leaves. Tonight the power went out for the fourth time this month. I added an orange, and half a tin of sardines for protein, quickly placing the unused ones in the dark silent refrigerator. Much tastier than it sounds. Dining by candlelight beside the wood stove was peaceful.

Nuances of a New Home. Some folks call them quirks. I have three of them. Mostly, though, for everyday purposes and convenience, I just use the microwave.
