The primary purpose is to build esteem and confidence in our students through creativity and exploration. The focus is on expression and color and tactile media to engage the children and cultivate a sense of success and comfort with art. All grades explore drawing and painting, clay and wire and other three dimensional materials, often within the context of observing a style, artist or theme.

Stevenson School Elementary Spanish Program. How are students in the elementary grades taught Spanish? A natural approach to language learning is used to teach Spanish in the elementary grades. There is a greater focus on meaningful communication than on grammatical structure. Students are encouraged first to understand and then to produce in the language.

Grade Five Girls Learn Plenty in Classic Game. Capture the Flag is a favorite activity for kids. the 5th grade girls have been learning and playing several versions of this classic game. The game provides an opportunity to run, chase, and flee; but, the most important lesson is developing team strategy and finding fun amidst the fierce competition. Auri flees with the flag.
