Justice, Mercy, and a Dead Dog. An interesting thing happened to me over the last few days, which has prompted me to further consider the interaction between mercy and justice. I admit, I am perplexed by the predicament and the attempt to reconcile the two values that have come into apparent conflict. So, any thoughts from readers would be welcome. My own are likely to be sort of rambling, maybe raising more questions than answering them. Suffice it to say that this answer was not.
