Amy Maxmen is a science journalist, editor and photographer who covers health, medicine, policy and evolution among other topics. She also writes about how scientists interact with the world. Her stories appear in a variety of outlets, including Nature. She is currently senior editor at Nautilus. Prior to writing, she earned a Ph. from Harvard University by spending a great deal of time in the ocean and beside a microscope in Honolulu.
